This roasted maple Modified Esquire neck has the back shape of an early 50's Esquire but with a flatter fingerboard radius and larger frets for modern playability. Roasted Maple is maple that has been heat treated in a special kiln to remove sugars, moisture, and other impurities in the wood that can affect its stability. The result is a neck that is slightly lighter in weight than normal yet stronger and extremely stable. The roasting process increases sustain and also brings out a beautiful caramel colour in the wood. Another big advantage is that after this process the wood becomes less susceptible to changes in atmospheric moisture and climate changes, reducing the need for adjustments between seasons and different weather conditions.
Featuring a thick early 50's "U" profile with a silky smooth satin urethane finish on the back of the neck while the fingerboard and front of the headstock has a gloss finish with an authentic "Esquire" decal to complete the classic look.Ā The bone nut is pre-slotted with āpilotā grooves for accurate spacing when filing the final string slots. The spaghetti logo tops it off beautifully! The actual neck pictured is the one you will receive, complete with a unique Fender serial number as pictured. The Fender part number 099-0217-920.
